Rubio prevented the former first lady from hitting the ground. Reagan was hospitalized in 2008 after fracturing her pelvis during a fall at her home in Bel-Air.
"She's just fine. Our aisles were crowded and she tripped on a stanchion, but recovered quickly, and we started the program on time," Melissa Giller, a spokeswoman for the library, told CNN.
Rubio went on to deliver a speech on conservatism and the legacy of Ronald Reagan.
During a question and answer session after the speech, Rubio once again rejected the suggestion he would accept the vice presidential nomination of the Republican Party in 2012.
"I love being in the United States Senate in this time in our history," Rubio said. "I'm not going to be the vice presidential nominee."
