Osama bin Laden dead

Osama bin Laden dead

"Justice has been done," President Obama says in a televised speech to the nation. Bin Laden, mastermind behind the Sept. 11 attacks and Al Qaeda leader, was killed by a CIA-led team at a compound inside Pakistan

A CIA-led team killed Osama Bin Laden at a compound inside Pakistan Sunday and recovered his body, bringing a close to the world's highest-profile manhunt after a decade-long search, President Obama announced to the world Sunday night.

"Justice has been done," the President said solemnly in a hastily-arranged late night TV address from the East Room of the White House. Bin Laden, he said, "murdered thousands of innocent men, women and children" and his death was "the most significant achievement to date" in the U.S. war against the al Qaeda, terrorist network that bin Laden founded, led and inspired.
As described by the President and top administration officials, the successful effort to track down bin Laden centered on a man whom the officials described as a trusted courier for al Qaeda, a protégé of Khalid Sheik Muhammed, the operational mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The big least Top conference fails

The big least Top conference fails
CHARLOTTE, NC

The Big East is going down. Hard.
Everyone was talking about the league all season long and its power in numbers, but now the conference has just two teams left standing following Notre Dame’s loss to Florida State on Sunday night.

And even that number is a bit deceiving — both UConn and Marquette, the two Big East teams still playing, defeated other Big East teams in the third round over the weekend (Connecticut defeated Cincinnati on Saturday night and Marquette knocked off Syracuse on Sunday). So before the third round began, the worst the Big East could do was send two to the Sweet 16. Indeed, it did its worst.

There were a record 11 teams from the conference in the tournament, but nine have been knocked out in the first week of play. On the flip side, for all the criticism that the ACC took this season, no conference has more teams left standing: Duke, North Carolina and the Seminoles all moved on.

Miley Cyrus Video -- Partying with a Bong

Miley Cyrus Video -- Partying with a Bong
Miley Cyrus celebrated her 18th birthday by experimenting with a bong and catching a case of the giggles -- but sources say she was not smoking marijuana.

Watch The Video

The video was shot during a party at Miley's L.A. area home 5 days after her 18th birthday.
According to a source connected with Miley ... the smoke filling the bong is a natural herb called salvia which has psychedelic qualities. Possession of salvia is legal in California.

As for the video ... the source tells us it was shot by one of Miley's friends -- and the theory is someone stole or copied the video from that friend's camera.

Lindsay Lohan Necklace Surveillance Video Sold

Lindsay Lohan Necklace Surveillance Video Sold
Kamofie & Co., the "victim" in the alleged Lindsay Lohan jewelry store scandal just cashed in on a very important tape.

The store reportedly just sold the surveillance tape of Lindsay to Entertainment Tonight for $35,000!

"The tape was sold in the U.S. and abroad," a source told Radaronline. "The jewelry store wanted a bidding war to maximize profits. They chopped up the sale to different outlets to make as much money as possible," the source told us.

The tape is a key piece of evidence in the felony grand theft case against Lindsay, so they basically f**ked up the prosecutor's case.

Lindsay's defense was that the store let her loan the necklace, but the store says she flat out stole it.

Lindsay's lawyer Shawn Holley is trying to work Lindsay a plea deal that will involve about 3 months in the pokey, but Lindsay refuses to go back to jail.

Kylie Minogue Breaks Down While Talking About Her Traumatic Cancer (Video)

Kylie Minogue Breaks Down While Talking About Her Traumatic Cancer (Video)
Just last week she celebrated the monumental five year, all clear mark.

And despite being at the top of her game, in the midst of a spectacular world tour, Kylie Minogue has revealed how her harrowing battle with breast cancer still haunts her.

The 42-year-old singer broke down in tears and had to leave the room during an emotional interview with Australian television program Sunday Night.

In what is undoubtedly her most raw and candid interview to date, Kylie opened up about the dark period to her close friend, Molly Meldrum, before the opening night of her Aphrodite tour in Denmark.

Meldrum complimented her on her 'brave' battle with the disease, but Kylie corrected him: 'You might have seen the bravery. I don't think the public saw... well, I stayed indoors.

'My family got me through really rotten, dark moments.'

Tears welled in hear eyes and she struggled to speak after discussing an encounter with a sick child and their parents in a children's hospital.

Kylie said: 'I was talking to some parents across the other side of a bed and their child was there.
'I was saying the things that I would normally say in that situation, just making conversation with the child, with the parents, giving them some support as well.

'And then, they really caught me off guard, they just eyeballed me and said, "How are you, and we hope you get through it" and it’s like...'

The singer struggled to find her words and became overcome with emotion.

As Meldrum, a legendary music personality in Australia, started to move onto another question, the emotion became too much for Kylie and after hiding her face to attempt to recover, she apologised and dashed out of the room.

But Minogue quickly returned to the room, eager to explain why the topic had upset her so much.

Still clearly emotional and fighting tears, she told the crew, 'It's OK, keep rolling.

'The reason that that gets me is, and the greatest part of my job and what I do is the humanity of it, and there’s certain moments where that really cuts through.'

She said that she hadn't thought about that encounter for some time, and that: 'It stopped me in my tracks.'

Kylie was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005 but at the end of February, she celebrated five years of being given the all clear.

'The five-year mark is the end of this month and I feel like I’m back with all guns blazing,' Kylie told Australian newspaper the Herald Sun in February.

'I’ll have a few mixed emotions on the day. I wanted to do a concert but now I’m on tour myself. I don’t know what to do. Obviously, it’s going to be exciting but it’s also going to be surreal and momentous and a bit scary.

'Anyone who’s been through cancer or any other disease with surgeries and treatments knows you have constant reminders that this is not how it used to be. I think my path is written,' she added.

'Even if part of you wants to say "OK I get it, I’m used to this", another part of you takes a lot longer to catch up with it and get with the program.'

After their raw discussion, Kylie and Meldrum moved on to cheerier topics, including the prospect of marriage and babies with her boyfriend, Andre Velencoso, 32.

Quizzed by Meldrum on the subject of marriage, she said: “It might happen, who knows!

And she even beat her old friend to the chase on the inevitable follow-up question, saying: 'Andres is a natural with children. We will just have to see but I’m not sure if that will be part of my future.

'There’s more than one way to skin a cat. It’s important for women to know there are other options available, whatever means you have to use to have a family, if that’s your desire go for it.'

Kim Kardashian Impersonators are Everywhere

An imposter hacked into Kim Kardashian's Twitter account today, temporarily preventing the reality star from connecting with her fans. To this we say: What is a Kardashian if she cannot tweet?! Cut off from her digital oxygen supply, Kimmy K issued an urgent S.O.S. from her phone: "Twitter please help me get my password back! How is it that I can tweet from my cell but my home computer says wrong password!"

Everyone can breathe a collective sigh of relief because the issue has been resolved, and Kardashian is back to micro-blogging every second of her existence. But this would-be case of illegal celebrity impersonation is far less nefarious than Old Navy's Kim Kardashian lookalike. Actress and singer Melissa Molinaro -- a dead ringer for the ubiquitous reality TV star -- stars in an obnoxious new commercial for the retail chain that will give you nightmares. (Apparently, Old Navy didn't want the real thing as their spokeswoman, so they hired a more-affordable someone who looks exactly like her instead; Kim reportedly can get up to $25,000 just to tweet about a product, and has a multimillion-dollar contract to endorse Skechers footwear.)
The 28-year-old Canadian Molinaro's been a finalist on the reality competition "Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For the Next Doll," had roles on "The Young and the Restless" and "How I Met Your Mother," and appears in the upcoming "Honey 2," a direct-to-video sequel of the 2003 Jessica Alba dance movie.
How does Kardashian respond to the uncanny resemblance? We won't know, of course, until she tweets about it.
Here's the TV spot, which has been completely inescapable in primetime lately, and which has prompted a huge spike in Yahoo! searches for "Melissa Molinaro," with an increase of 16,000% in the last week:

Megan Mullally Mercedes Crash Equals Lawsuit

Megan Mullally Mercedes Crash Equals Lawsuit
An earlier Mercedes car crash involving former Will & Grace star Megan Mullally has prompted a lawsuit filed against the actress for allegedly driving through a red light and crashing into another car in 2009.

Wendy Kim claims her Mercedes incurred almost $15,000 worth of damage from the accident, in which both women sustained minor injuries.
Kim has now filed legal documents at Los Angeles Superior Court demanding Mullally pays for the repair costs, but so far the actress has refused because she insists she is innocent of any wrongdoing.

Mullally claims the traffic light was yellow when she drove through it and that Kim’s “negligence” resulted in the crash, reports TMZ.com.

A hearing is to be held in April.

Jennifer Beals Turns Down Dancing With The Stars

JENNIFER BEALS has turned down an opportunity to appear on DANCING WITH THE STARS.

JENNIFER BEALS, the American actress and star of the movie 'Flashdance', has turned down an offer to appear as a contestant on the next series of DANCING WITH THE STARS, according to People Magazine. Beals, who is currently starring in the Fox drama 'The Chicago Code', says she will not be following in the footsteps of recent winner JENNIFER GREY, saying, "I am not a dancer. They asked me and I said no. You could back up a truck to my door filled with cash and I wouldn't do it". The 47-year-old said she visited the DANCING WITH THE STARS' ballroom with her actress friend MARLEE MATLIN several years ago and was surprised by the intimidating atmosphere, saying, "The sound of the audience is so loud and the energy in there is so intense. I wanted to start crying just in feeling for her. I joked with Marlee and said, 'You don't know how lucky you are you can't hear this'", the actress added, "The noise level is so intense and people's excitement level is so intense. I could never. I'm not that kind of a performer".

Beals famously played 'Alexandra Owens' in the 1993 dance movie 'Flashdance', alongside MICHAEL NOURI. The film, produced by JERRY BRUCKHEIMER, grossed over $100 million at the box-office despite opening to negative reviews from critics.

She's Back! Britney Spears Debuts 'Hold It Against Me' Music Video

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Britney Spears is back! The pop princess debuted the music video for her new single, "Hold It Against Me," on MTV and Vevo.com on Thursday night -- and the sexy singer definitely brought her A-game!

PLAY IT NOW: Music Video Sneak Peek: Britney Spears - 'Hold It Against Me'

In the video -- ripe with fast cuts and mutliple glaring product placements (including her fragrance Radiance, Makeup Forever, Sony, and the online dating site PlentyOfFish.com) -- a lean, glammed-up Britney is seen prowling around the futuristic space, surrounded by various TV equipment and rocking a white bridal-esque gown, before slowly ascending toward the ceiling. Brit then shows off her famous abs in her signature white midriff-baring crop-top and her itty-bitty denim cut-off shorts.

Next, it's a Britney-on-Britney catfight as the singer appears to wage war on... herself (in stilettos, or course), before shooting neon-colored paint at the surrounding TV monitors from her fingertips, flinging color all over her formerly pristine white gown (think: Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair).
Brit also rocks a black leather mini-dress for the video's high-energy dance sequence.

Watch the video below (warning: mild suggestiveness and stylized violence)

Back in January, "Hold It's" choreographer Brian Friedman - the mastermind behind the superstar's "Boys" and "Me Against the Music" moves - teased fans by announcing he was excited to "get [Britney] dancing really hard again."
"She's had a couple of years where she's been dancing different styles of dance and it hasn't been me," Brian told MTV News at the time. "It's not necessarily that she hasn't been dancing, it hasn't been what I get from her, and what I seem to get from her is this tigress quality. And she prowls.

"She really dominates when she does my choreography, and that's what I wanted to get back," he added.
The choreographer faced a bit of heat from Britney's legions of fans on Thursday (after a 30-second teaser for the video was released) who felt Britney's footwork didn't live up to Brian's boasting.

"Britney Fans... I DIDNT edit or direct the video so please do not place hostility at me if you aren't happy with what you have seen or see," Brian Tweeted on Thursday. "Britney worked her a-- off for this video and she and I hope that you all love it.

"Thank U every1 4 the support :)," he later added. "I haven't seen the vid yet, all I know is how Brit was on set & she was FAB! FEMME FATALE will be incredible!"

"Hold It Against Me" is the first single from Brit's upcoming album, "Femme Fatale," which is slated to drop March 29.

Cross-eyed cat next zoo celebrity?

Frank the 14-year-old wild cat follows cross-eyed opossum, polar bear and octopus

Frank, the eyra or jaguarundi, which is a type of wild cat, is pictured in a zoo in the town of Delitzsch, north of Leipzig, February 14, 2011. Germany's famous cross-eyed opossum, Heidi, has a competition on her hands, as another German zoo tries to steal her limelight by introducing their cross-eyed star to the public. Frank is the second cross-eyed animal to become a superstar after opossum Heidi from nearby Leipzig became an international sensation in December last year. REUTERS/Leon Malherbe (GERMANY - Tags: ANIMALS)

Hot on the heels of cross-eyed opossum Heidi's smash success at the Leipzig Zoo, a nearby animal park in eastern Germany has been preparing its own cross-eyed creature for possible celebrity.

Meet Frank the jaguarundi, a 14-year-old wild cat from the Tiergarten Delitzsch in eastern Germany, who has his own pair of crossed eyes.
"I think many people probably just come (to the zoo) to see him," zoo head Katrin Ernst told Reuters. "They stand at his enclosure and call his name. ... I can hear it from my office nearby."
Jaguarundis are a type of puma native to North and South America.
Frank's handlers believe he was born cross-eyed, unlike opossum Heidi whose crossed eyes stem from a poor diet when she was young.
The 2-year-old opossum became a star in Germany when her photo appeared in the mass-circulation newspaper Bild in December, generating a Facebook following topping 300,000 fans.
She has also been recruited by Hollywood to predict winners of the February 27 Academy Awards on U.S. television.
Celebrity may not be far off for Frank: Bild included a photo and article about him last week.
So far the Delitzsch zoo has yet to receive any offers from Hollywood or endorsement opportunities, said Ernst.
"We're waiting for what comes," she said. "If someone should inquire and perhaps would like to make little chocolate jaguarundis or something similar, then we certainly wouldn't be disinterested."
Frank may not be a natural showman like prior German animal celebrities like polar bear Knut or the late octopus oracle Paul, who correctly tipped each of Germany's 2010 World Cup matches in front of dozens of media on live television.
Jaguarundis' moods are not easy to predict. They are solitary animals who only meet fellow jaguarundis when mating.
Still, Frank is something of an institution; he is the oldest male jaguarundi in Europe.

Fake Robot Baby Provokes Real Screams

Uncanny valley, heard of it? No worries, you're knee-deep in it right now. It's the revulsion you feel to robots, prostheses, or zombies that try, but don't quite duplicate their human models. As the robot becomes more humanlike, however, our emotional response becomes increasingly positive and empathetic. Unfortunately, the goal of Osaka University's AFFETTO was to create a robot modeled after a young child that could produce realistic facial expressions in order to endear it to a human caregiver in a more natural way. Impressive, sure, but we're not ready to let it suckle from our teat just yet.

Lawmakers says she learned a lot at Hooters

Rep. Julia Hurley, newly elected to the Tennessee House, credits her work at Hooters with helping her win her seat in what’s regarded as a conservative district.
