Drew Barrymore, 36 , is one such alternative girl, and she's admitted that because of that, her incredible diamond ring from fiance Will Kopelman, 34.
The 4-carat Graff diamonds bauble is traditional in all respects and as Drew describes it: 'really fancy.'
The Going the Distance star opened up about her new direction in jewellery and meeting the art consult in an interview with Anderson Cooper, which will air tomorrow at 4pm EST.
'I didn’t want to go to this little party, and my friend dragged me there and I met him,' she told Anderson before revealing that although their initial meeting was several years ago, it wasn’t until 2011 that 'things got serious.'

Now after a romantic proposal, the twice-married, twice engaged star says she is excitedly planning her nuptials.
'The thing that I think we’re the most excited about is … this will be such a nice year to do wonderful things together,' she gushed
'We like to spend time with our friends anyway, so on the auspices of this kind of a celebration, even more heightened and wonderful. What a great adventure.'
And of that ring, she opined: 'It’s beautiful, he picked it out and he’s just got lovely taste, and it’s really fancy.
Before adding: 'I’m sort of like funky, eclectic girl so I feel like this is very fancy and I’m trying to like, you know, feel comfortable with it.'
And she added that she needs to feel comfortable to avoid the stresses of wedding planning.
She said: 'The worst thing you can do is like stress about things, and I totally fall prey to stress and lose my own advice every once in a while.'
'We’ll just have a wedding, we’ll get married, it will be very calm.'
